Space and Time: The Dynamics of Extractivism - Austellungseröffnung

Diese Formen des „Extraktivismus“ haben sich vervielfacht und wirken sich nicht nur auf die natürlichen Ressourcen, sondern auch auf die kulturelle Identität und die kollektive Psyche aus.

Die Ausstellung nimmt die Konstruktion von „Zeit“ und „Raum“ in den Blick – Kategorien, die stets von den jeweiligen Machthabern definiert wurden.

Verschiedene Künstler:innen wurden eingeladen, sich mit diesem Themenfeld auseinanderzusetzen und die Auswirkungen des Extraktivismus auf die kongolesische Identität aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven sichtbar zu machen.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is facing exploitative
structures that have permeated society from the colonial period to
today. These forms of extractivism have multiplied, affecting not only
natural resources but also cultural identity and collective psychology.
The exhibition focuses on the construction of the notions of “time” and
“space,” shaped by those in power.
Various artists were invited to engage with this theme and to highlight
the impact of extractivism on Congolese identity from different
perspectives.
